Terms of service
These terms govern your use of Talkify. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use Talkify on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to accept them for that company.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old and provide accurate registration details.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password and API key secure.
- One person per seat. Team features are for the number of seats purchased.
- Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
Acceptable use
You may use Talkify for any lawful purpose. You may not use it to:
- impersonate a real person, or clone a voice without that person's documented consent;
- create audio intended to deceive — fraud, fake emergencies, forged statements attributed to real people or organisations;
- harass, threaten, defame or incite violence against anyone;
- produce content that sexualises minors, or that violates copyright, trademark or privacy rights;
- circumvent plan limits, resell raw access to the engines, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without written permission;
- upload malware, or use the API in a way that degrades service for other customers.
We may suspend an account while we investigate a credible report of misuse. Where the law allows, we tell you what triggered the suspension.
Voice cloning and consent
You may clone only your own voice, or a voice you have written permission to use, and you must record the consent statement the studio requests. Consent can be withdrawn by the voice owner at any time; if it is, we disable the clone. You are responsible for keeping the evidence of consent and for how the clone is used.
Your content and our licence
You keep all rights to the scripts you upload and to the audio generated for you. You grant us a limited licence to host, process and transmit that content only to operate the service, including sending it to the speech engine that produces the audio. We do not publish your projects or use them to train models for other customers.
Generated audio may be used commercially only while your plan includes a commercial licence and your subscription is active. Audio generated on the free plan is for personal, non-commercial use.
Our intellectual property
The Talkify software, interface, brand and voice catalogue belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of any of it. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer the service except as permitted by law.
Plans, billing and cancellation
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled.
- Prices are shown at checkout in your selected currency and may change with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
- Characters reset each billing period; unused paid characters roll over for up to two months.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep access until then.
- Failed payments may lead to suspension after a grace period and reasonable reminders.
- Refunds are governed by our refund policy.
API and fair use
API access is subject to the rate limits of your plan. You must not disguise automated traffic as human browsing, cache generated audio to resell it as a competing service, or build a product whose main purpose is to reproduce the voice catalogue. We may throttle requests that threaten stability.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available and publish incidents on the status page. Features may be added, changed or removed; we give reasonable notice before a change that materially reduces what you paid for. Business plans may include a separate uptime commitment in the order form.
Disclaimers
Synthetic speech is not perfect. You are responsible for reviewing generated audio before publishing it, especially for names, numbers, legal disclosures and medical or financial statements. The service is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law, and we do not warrant that output will be error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost data beyond backups we maintain. Our total liability for a claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that materially breaches these terms, after notice where practical. On termination we delete content according to the retention periods in the Privacy policy, and you can request an export before your account closes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Talkify entity that contracts with you is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes are announced by e-mail or in the studio at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
